The record breaking MMORPG World of Warcraft is starting to show signs that it's reign at the top of the MMO charts may finally be coming to an end.

Activision has recently confirmed that the game has lost 1.3 million subscribers, bringing the overall number down to a still respectable 8.3 million. The majority of subscribers lost were mainly from the East, but also a large number from the West.

At it's peak in 2010, World of Warcraft boasted as many as 12 million monthly subscribers, dropping to 10 million at the release of the latest expansion, Mists of Pandaria. Blizzard may have one final trick up their sleeve, with a final expansion to the saga rumored to be just around the corner. World of Warcraft still holds the Guinness World Record for most subscribed MMORPG and most popular MMORPG.
